PRODUCT OVERVIEW: WINCHESTER 209 PRIMER TRIPLE 7
Winchester Triple Seven Primers are softer than regular 209 Shotshell Primers and are made specifically for muzzleloading. Milder primers assist maintain constant velocities and reduce the development of crud rings since they do not drive the powder charge forward.
These primers undergo extensive testing for consistency and sensitivity under conditions and at temperatures well outside their typical operating range. The Winchester 209 Primer Triple 7 is currently available for purchase and ensures improved sensitivity for more confident firing in all firearms, consistency in size and quality, and stability in extremes of temperature and humidity. These primers are only intended for muzzleloading rifles; they cannot be used in shotshells.

I’ve never had one fail to ignite, across two different muzzleloaders. While I’ve never chrono’d my BP loads, these primers have consistently lit 3 pellet 777 charges & have worked fine with 120gr charges of 777 FFFg.
