In my 45 Colt with 2400 and my 10mm with Blue Dot results have been very good. Velocities and SD seem to be more consistent than I’ve gotten with Remington primers. I’ve heard the old adage “It’s a primer, it works.” True, but with diligent attention to powder charge and bullet seating these primers do seem to have a slight edge on others I’ve used.

I have used the Federal Match Primers since about 1995. I am a perfectionist with the ammunition I make. The Federal Match Primer is the only primer I have been able to consistently get an SD of 2 or less with. Years ago in the American Rifleman there was a great article on primers and their compositions. They are not all the same. I use primarily tubular single base (nitrocellulose) powders. I recently began using Vitavouri’s single base tubular pistol powders with the Federal Match Primers and the results are excellent.
