PRODUCT OVERVIEW: CCI 550 PRIMERS| CCI SMALL PISTOL MAGNUM PRIMERS
CCI Primers are evaluated and refined throughout time. Since they are now more compatible with progressive and automated loading equipment than ever before, CCI primers are more sensitive and simple to seat. For the cleanest burn possible, they use contemporary non-corrosive and non-mercuric initiator blends. Certain shooting situations in the real world call for a more forceful initiation than what is offered by ordinary primers.
It can be frustrating to have to use a stronger priming flame and a longer burn time because of large cases, cold weather, and different propellants. You get that competitive edge, in addition to all of the qualities that set CCI primers apart, with the CCI 550 Primers that are currently available for purchase. Available in 1000 count and 5000 count, respectively.

yes, but magnum primers are misunderstood. They do not burn hotter, they burn longer. The reason its done that way is to try to burn all the powder. A lot of the time you’ll see the big flash or flames coming out of the barrel, that’s because the powder is not completely burned and is still burning out of the barrel. Be sure to drop the maximum powder charge by 10% and work up when changing to a mag primer. Hope this helps.

Small pistol magnum primers will work perfectly in 9mm. Magnum primers add a few feet per second to the velocity; they are slightly hotter than standard small pistol primers.
